TheProgressive Wrestling Association of Goa was initially formed as Goa Wrestling Association(GWA) but later the GWA was de-recognised of dormant by the Sports Authority of Goa(SAG) and granted permanent recognition to the Progressive Wrestling Association of Goa.
Vijai Sardesai (born 14 June 1970) is the President of the Progressive Goa Wrestling Association and also of the Goa Dodgeball Association. Sardesai is an Indian politician and a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Goa. He is a member of the Goa Legislative Assembly representing the Fatorda constituency and belongs to the Goa Forward Party. Sardesai holds the portfolios of Town & Country Planning; Agriculture; Archives & Archeology; as well as Factories & Boilers in the Government of Goa.
