Maharashtra Amateur Wrestling Association is the Official state body Of Maharashtra Wrestling. It organizes the state and district level wrestling tournaments. The Maharashtra Amateur wrestling association is affiliated to Wrestling Federation of India.
Sharad Govindrao Pawar is an Indian Politician who serves as the President of the Nationalist Congress Party which he founded in 1999, after separating from the Indian National Congress. Pawar hails from the town of Baramati in the Pune District of Maharashtra. In 2017, Pawar was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor. He has interests in cricket, kabbadi, kho kho, wrestling, and football. He has served as the President of Maharashtra Wrestling Association.
